'Cobra Kai' Season 6 Part 2 SPOILER Review: The Sekai Tekai Tournament Gets Deadly

Courtesy of Netflix

Part 2 of the final season of Cobra Kai is finally here. Fans have been eagerly anticipating part 2 after the first part was released in July. Part 1 left off where both Cobra Kai and Miyago-Do qualified to be a part of the Sekai Takai tournament. The captains for Miyagi-Do are Robbie and Sam. The captains for Cobra Kai are Kwon and Tory which was the big surprise ending in part 1. Does the Sekai Takai tournament live up to the hype? Let's find out.

Part 2 of the final season of Cobra Kai is absolutely insane. This part is like a car crash in a good way because it s absolutely chaotic in a great way. The big ending of part 1 carries over into part 2. Robbie tries to see why Tory would choose Cobra Kai. Tory is fighting her own demons at this time after the passing of her mother and basically tells Robbie that she loves him but they need to take a break for the tournament. This affects Robbie badly as his focus for the tournament has greatly diminished. He starts losing fights and points for his team and gets easily distracted while on the mat. This causes issues in Miyagi-Do and tension for the team.

Other members of Miyagi-Do also confront Tory as to why she is on Cobra Kai's team. Unlike other seasons, everyone has grown up a little bit. It's not this thing where Tory is now the enemy. It's a decision she made for herself and even though her friends don't like it, they understand it. Like Robbie, Tory is also off her game a little bit. She lacks focus and Kreese notices it and tells her to use that anger to win.

The Sekai Takai tournament gives us new characters that are introduced to us. Two of these new characters are Zara and Axel. Zara is the Kim Kardashian of karate. She goes on Instagram live and talks about her brand deals and sponsorships. Axel is like the terminator of karate. The dude has a huge frame and never loses. Both characters are captains for the Iron Dragons team which we later find out is owned by..... TERRY FUCKING SILVER. Silver has come back to the Cobra Kai universe in a huge dramatic fashion. Silver's chargers were dropped against him and decided to buy another team to go against Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do. His reveal back was truly shocking and one I did not see coming.

Strange things happen during this part 2. It's like the writers were on cocaine during this because it us for a wild ride. Daniel gets kidnapped by a former goon of Silver. Carmen almost dies from her pregnancy. This allows Kenny to join the Miyagi-Do team and gives Devin and Anthony the chance to apologize. Dimitri cheats on Yasmine with a fellow competitor in the tournament. Chozen and Kim Da-Eun have sex on the beach (I didn't know Chozen had that dawg in him) For a last season, the writers wanted to go out with a bang and they have certainly accomplished that.

This leads us to the finals of the Sekai Takai tournament. Miyagi-Do eliminated Cobra Kai earlier but Cobra Kai was brought back because one of the other teams cheated using performance enhancing drugs. The Iron Dragons, Miyagi-Do, and Cobra Kai have all made the finals. But we don't have a winner. The tournament ends in truly shocking fashion. Before the finals, Kwon lost to a resurging Robbie to eliminate the Cobra Kai team before they were brought back. Kwon has always been the character with something to prove. The loss to Robbie only made his anger worse. During an elimination fight between Robbie and Axel, tempers flare between all teams and a huge brawl occurs. During most of this part, Kreese has carried a big knife with him (this will come into play in the final scene). Chaos ensues with everyone fighting each other. It's basically the big school fight again but with everyone being a karate expert. Kreese finds Silver and looks for his knife but it's not with him. Kreese and Silver then have a fight of their own. Silver kicks Kreese's ass but Johnny then comes and saves Kreese. Johnny and Silver then fight for a little bit. This is where the scene gets crazy. Kwon finds Kreese's knife and goes to kill Axel but misses and falls onto the mat with the knife stabbed into his chest. Blood is spewing from Kwon and he is pronounced dead. The shocking incident stops the brawl and the whole tournament and ends part 2 of Cobra Kai.

The shocking death of Kwon brings the Cobra Kai universe into a completelt different dark direction than it has ever been before. Part 2 showed that the petty rivalry between Kreese, Silver, Daniel, and Johnny has ultimately led to the death of one of their students. It will be intriguing to see the aftermath of this and how they end the show.
