'Deadpool & Wolverine' Review: The MCU is BACK

It's been no secret that the MCU has been floundering for a couple of years. Ever since the incredible arc of Infinity War and Endgame, the MCU hasn't been the same. Whether that is superhero fatigue or a bad product, the MCU needed a spark. Deadpool & Wolverine has been the most hyped MCU movie to come out in years. But, does it deliver and bring the MCU back to relevancy? Let's find out.

When it was first reported that Deadpool & Wolverine were going to have a movie together, fans were very excited. The return of Hugh Jackman as wolverine left fans excited but also confused. How would wolverine come back when he died in Logan? Fans were also worried that wolverine coming back would ruin the impact of Logan. Hugh Jackman's return as wolverine is done so well. His return doesn't take away the impact of Logan. Jackman also brings an emotional depth to the film that Deadpool films usually don't have. This makes the film not just hilarious but emotional as well.

Deadpool is as funny as ever in this film. It is the funniest film out of the three. Marvel did the right thing by keeping this film rated R. Having a Deadpool film be PG-13 would be a huge mistake and would make this film not what it should be. The humor in this film is on point and there are scenes where you will laugh out loud and almost pee yourself. The main source of this humor is of course Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool. The casting of Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool proves to be one of the best castings Marvel has ever done.

The action sequences in Deadpool & Wolverine is the best of the three Deadpool films. Deadpool and Wolverine have a couple of fights that are legit awesome. It felt really cool to see these two legendary characters fighting each on screen. But, they also team up together for some great scenes. There's one scene together where they fight (beware mini-spoiler) multiple Deadpools. There's a part where there is a no cut tracking shot of Deadpool and Wolverine fighting them on a bus and it is awesome. Director Shawn Levy did a great job of filming these scenes.

The villains of the film Paradox and Cassandra Nova do a pretty good job. Cassandra Nova in particular is the stand out. Emma Corrin does a good job of bring layers to the character and having a reason for why she is doing what she is doing. Paradox is the goofy villain that no one takes seriously. His part in the film was needed but it didn't deliver the impact that it should of. One complaint of the film is that the story is just okay. It's the basic story the MCU uses in their films. But, the team up of Deadpool and Wolverime overshadows this which make this an insignificant problem.

Deadpool & Wolverine is the film that will bring the MCU back to relevancy. This film will bring audiences back to the MCU. The team up of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman was great and the film leaves you with the possibility of another team up happening in the future. The MCU needa to continue this momentum and hopefully the next film can continue that. Deadpool & Wolverine is the best film the MCU has put out in years.
