Nicolas Cage is making his return to studio movies starring as Dracula in Universal's Renfield. Renfield will be a part of the MonsterVerse that is at Universal. Cage will not be the main star of the film as the film will focus on Dracula's henchman Renfield.
Renfield will be played Nicholas Hoult. The film is expected to be an origin story of the character taken place in the present day. Chris McKay will be directing and producing the film. McKay is known for films The Tomorrow War and The Lego Batman Movie. Ryan Ridley will be writing the script. Ridley is known for writing some episodes of the hit series Rick and Morty.
