Helluva Boss Season 3 is officially on the horizon and fans of the adult animated musical series just cannot wait to see what chaotic - and hellish - misadventures await Blitztø, Moxxie, and the rest of the Immediate Murder Professionals crew (better known as I.M.P). In anticipation of this new chapter of Vivienne Medrano’s hellaverse, The Movie Nerds were fortunate enough to sit down with fan-favorite voice actress Erica Lindbeck on May 15th to discuss all sorts of wacky situations as well as the upcoming narrative focus for her character, Loona.

From playing a game of Monopoly (rather called Mammonopoly) to an exclusive tease regarding the direction of her highly anticipated first musical number, Lindbeck not only brings us to unexplored corners of the Helluva Boss story in this interview but also talks some behind-the-scenes insights into the premiere of her new indie animated venture, Gameoverse.

Salvatore Cento: With two seasons having been released and a third on the way, fans of the series know - well, a lot - about the many characters of Helluva Boss. But let’s say the Hellaverse did combine for a moment. In your opinion, what would Loona’s reaction be upon entering Hazbin Hotel?

Erica Lindbeck: I think that she - oh gosh, I’ve never really thought about this - I think she’d have opinions about the decorations. She’d also probably get along with some of the people; she’s on a journey of self-acceptance and being kinder to herself and thus, others. I think maybe it would be a crapshoot. Honestly, I would love to see what the writers would come up with and her interactions with Charlie.

Cento: Seven years in and twenty-one episodes later, which episode of Helluva Boss is your favorite and why?

Lindbeck: Ok, so my favorite is coming up and I can’t talk about it. But - it’s awesome and I’m excited for Loona’s song. That will definitely top it out.Cento: Since you can’t talk about that one, which one so far in the first two seasons?Lindbeck: Hmm, probably “Seeing Stars[Season 2, Episode 2]. That’s where we get one of the most fleshed-out scenes of Loona.

Cento: Loona is not only the usually composed hellhound receptionist of I.M.P but also a surprisingly strong emotional support beam for so many other characters in Helluva Boss. What was it about the character that inspired you to step into the role?

Lindbeck: Oh, I just auditioned and read for it. I had no idea of the scope of it. I wish that I could just decide to take a role - but I just auditioned for it.Cento: So while you’re voicing the role, which part of Loona do you resonate with the most as time has gone on?Lindbeck: I think I used to resonate with her screaming and being antagonistic and now I think I’m more aligned with her softer moments where she lets her guard down.

Cento: Vivienne Medrano - the creator of both Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss - has said that the upcoming season has a lot more Loona focus than the last two seasons. She also gets her first song which everybody is excited to hear - including me. If you can say, which direction does this song take? Does it originate from a more emotional place or is it bound to more of an action sequence?

Lindbeck: Oh, that’s interesting.

It definitely helps to move her story along. Obviously with Helluva Boss specifically - they just can’t randomly break out into song - it has to make sense for the story, so I think - intrinsic to that, it does help to move said story. It definitely gives the audience more information about what goes on in her head.

Cento: Helluva Boss fans seem to be in overall agreement when it comes to this. They want to see all the characters of the show come together to play a game of Monopoly. There are many different pictures depicting this online. In your mind, who’s grabbing up all the properties, who’s in jail the most and who’s losing the most money and well who ends up flipping the board over in a fit of rage?

Lindbeck: Loona’s flipping the board over in a fit of rage, I feel like Blitz would be in jail and Stolas would be grabbing up all the properties.

Cento: What about Millie and Moxxie?

Lindbeck: They probably decided that they can’t play because they don’t want to fight each other. They’d probably be teaming up - it would be annoying - maybe like helping each other. Loona would probably be like,  “we’re not playing fair!” and that’s when she would flip the board and rage.

Cento: I know I’ve been asking a lot about Helluva Boss, but today - May 15th - is a special day in itself because today is the premiere date for Gameoverse. How does it feel to finally see Kit out in the world after the show’s long journey from its 2009 origins?

Lindbeck:It is so cool and I’ve been attached to it for a little over a year now? It’s been a special kind of pressure when you know that a character that you’re going to be giving a voice to already has a fanbase, you know? One that has been in the works and has fan art from ten odd years ago? It’s been such a labor of love and we actually got to see a screening of it last night. It’s awesome. It’s beautiful. It’s very much made by human hands and I love that. You can see the love that’s been put into it.

Cento: I’ve only seen the trailer so far and it reminds me of the computer games I used to play back in grade school.

Lindbeck: That’s very much on purpose. For Ross, it’s very much a love letter to those games and that media that we consumed.

Cento: I will definitely check out the first episode when I have a chance.

Lindbeck: Yes, please! I hope you enjoy it. It’s like a chunky thirty two minutes.

Cento: And my final question, which character or characters would you want to see Loona interact with more in Helluva Boss? In a romantic dynamic, a buddy cop dynamic, duo on a mission, etc.

Lindbeck: Oh my gosh, I’d love to see all of them. As an actor, that’s what you want - you want to explore all of them - explore more dynamics and deepen relationships. I would like to see Stolas and Loona interact more actually. I think that would be really cool. Obviously more Loona and Octavia of course. I like the dynamic with everyone. I’d love to see a buddy cop situation with Moxxie. I’d think that would be really fun.

Again, I think all the characterizations and relationships are all so strong that any of them would be awesome to see.

Cento: Alright, that seems to be it. We are ready to go.

Lindbeck: It’s Salvatore, yeah?

Cento: Yes.

Lindbeck: So nice to meet you Salvatore. Thanks for having me.

Cento: Thank you!

While Helluva Boss seasons one and two are currently available for streaming on Prime Video and on Youtube through Vivienne Medrano’s official channel named Vivziepop, seasons three and four are coming soon. While the latter does not yet have any official release slot, the first half of season three will come out in late 2026 and the second half will premiere in the second half of 2027.
