A sequel to I Am Legend is currently in development. The film will star Hollywood heavyweights Will Smith, reprising his role in the first film and Michael B. Jordan. Smith and Jordan are expected to produce the film together as well. The film will be distributed by Warner Brothers.
Plot details have been kept under wraps. There has been no release date announced for the film yet. Akiva Goldsman will write the script for the film. He adapted Richard Matheson's 1954 novel for the original 2007 film.
No director has been attached to the project. Francis Lawrence is the director of the original film and would sure love his name to be attached. I Am Legend was released in 2007 and the sequel will be released 15 plus years after the original's release. The one thing that is going for this film is that the original has a huge following. Fans have speculated on a sequel based on the alternate ending and now we will finally get one.
