After 30 years, the Mission Impossible franchise is coming to end. Mission: Impossible- The Final Reckoning is the last film in the epic franchise. The epic saga of IMF agent Ethan Hunt is coming to an end. With it being the last film in the franchise, fans expectations are sky high. They want to see how Cruise can outdo the crazy stunts he has done in the previous films. Last film, saw Cruise ride a motorcycle off a cliff in the most memorable stunt in franchise history. How would that be topped or can it be topped is the million dollar question. Does Mission: Impossible- The Final Reckoning live up to the hype?

Mission: Impossible- The Final Reckoning gives Ethan Hunt the mission of a lifetime. He is now tasked to stop The Entity. The Entity is an AI generated machine that has the capability of penetrating cyber-security and killing billions of people. Hunt also has to deal with the cunning Gabriel who is trying to get control of The Entity to build his own little world of destruction. Flanked by Hunt's side is the same cast of characters we have all known and love: Benji, Luther, Grace, Paris, and new comer Degas.

Mission: Impossible- The Final Reckoning is a film that is made to watch on the biggest screen possible. It's epic looking in every way possible. The colors pop and the cinematography is breathtaking in certain scenes. The stunts are good in this film and it's even more impressive that Cruise does all of these stunts himself. It really brings an authenticity to these films that is not seen in other action films. The motorcycle cliff jump is the still the most epic stunt in the franchise but the stunts Cruise does in this film will leave you both terrified and exhilarated.

The problem with Mission: Impossible- The Final Reckoning is the story and how the film plays out. The story is something we have seen in the Mission Impossible franchise before and the conclusion doesn't add anything new to that. It's another version of Ethan Hunt saving the world. Also, you can feel the runtime. It takes time for the film to get going but once it hits that right pace, you start feeling the runtime less and are left to enjoy what's on the screen. Cruise always does a fantastic job as Hunt. Simon Pegg is also great in his role. Ving Rhames gives an emotional moment in the film that will leave die hard Mission Impossible fans feeling emotions they would not usually feel watching one of these films. Pom Klementieff not only looks like a badass in this film but she kicks ass as well. Hayley Atwell has been a welcome addition to the franchise and is a good partner to Cruise's Ethan Hunt.

So, does the film live up to they hype? Yes and no. It does because the stunts and action in this film are worthy enough to be the conclusion of this amazing franchise. With that being said, the story leaves you feeling unsatisfied. Since there is nothing new, you feel like you are watching the same film with different stunts. Even though the stunts are amazing and help alleviate the story a little bit, you still feel like there should be more, especially with this film being the conclusion. All in all, this is still one of the best franchises of the last 30 years and the conclusion still has a high quality of filmmaking that audiences will appreciate.
