My Top 10 Most Anticipated Movies for the Rest of 2021

2021 has been a good year for movies after an interesting 2020 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Movie theaters opened up, less movies were delayed, and things are starting to finally go back to normal. The rest of 2021 is shaping up to make 2021 a great year for movies. Here are my most anticipated movies for the rest of 2021.

10. Venom: Let There Be Carnage

Venom: Let There Be Carnage is the sequel to the successful Venom that was released in 2018. The film stars: Tom Hardy, Woody Harrelson, Naomie Harris, and Michelle Williams. The film will be directed by Andy Serkis. I am interested to see his take on the Venom character and what he does with the incoming Carnage. Woody Harrelson as Cletus Kassidy will be intersting to see and something audiences are looking forward to. The film will be released on October 15, 2021 only in theaters.

9. Nighmare Alley

Nightmare Alley is the latest film directed by Guillermo del Toro. The film stars: Bradley Cooper, Cate Blanchett, Willem Dafoe, and Rooney Mara. The film is a remake of the 1947 version starring Tyrone Power. The film's synopsis reads: An ambitious carny with a talent for manipulating people with a few well-chosen words hooks up with a female psychiatrist who is even more dangerous than he is. The film is set to be in the noir genre, which is personally one of my favorite film genres. Guillermo del Toro always makes good movies, so I will be excited to check this out. The film will be released on December 3, 2021 only in theaters.

8. Ghostbusters: Afterlife

Ghostbusters: Afterlife is the latest film in the Ghostbusters franchise. The latest film in the franchise was the 2016 box office failure Ghostbusters. I have high hopes for this movie because it will be directed by Jason Reitman. Reitman is the son of the original Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman. This film is described as a continuation of the original Ghostbusters franchise. The film stars: Finn Wolfhard, Carrie Coon, McKenna Grace, and Paul Rudd. The film will be released on November 11, 2021 only in theaters.

7. King Richard

King Richard is a movie I didn't have on this list originally, but after watching the trailer I had to put it on here. The film is about Richard Williams, the father of Serena and Venus Williams and how he coached his daughters to be the best tennis players in the world. The film stars Will Smith as Richard Williams. After seeing the trailer, I can see Smith getting nominated for an Oscar. The film looks like one of those movies where you laugh, cry, feel happy, feel sad, and most importantly motivates you. I can't wait to watch it. The film will be released on November 19, 2021 in theaters and on HBO Max.

6. The Many Saints of Newark

The Many Saints of Newark is a prequel to the highly acclaimed television series The Sopranos. The film is about a young Tony Soprano growing up in New Jersey and is mentored by Dickie Moltsanti. The film stars: Michael Gandolfini, Alessandro Nivola, Jon Bernthal, Vera Farmiga, and Corey Stoll. Gandolfini is portraying a young Tony Soprano which is awesome to see because his father James Gandolfini portrayed Tony Soprano in The Sopranos. If you're a fan of The Sopranos, this is a must watch. The film will be released on October 1, 2021 in theaters and on HBO Max.

5. Eternals

Eternals will be the latest film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film stars: Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Angelina Jolie, Kit Harrington, Salma Hayek, and Kumail Nanjiani. The film is directed by Chloe Zhao, who just won an Oscar for her film Nomadland. The film's synopsis reads: The saga of the Eternals, a race of immortal beings who lived on Earth and shaped its history and civilizations. I don't know a lot about The Eternals, but I am excited to learn about them and see what they bring to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film will be released on November 5, 2021 only in theaters.

4. House of Gucci

House of Gucci is the latest film to be directed by Ridley Scott. The film stars: Lady Gaga, Adam Driver, Jared Leto, and Al Pacino. The film is about the murder of Maurizio Gucci and how that came to be. This will be Lady Gaga's second starring role and I am excited to see her and Adam Driver together. This film is one of the movies you know will be in every category at the Oscars so my expectations are high. The film will be released on November 24, 2021 only in theaters.

3. No Time to Die

No Time to Die is the latest film in the James Bond franchise. The film stars: Daniel Craig, Ana de Armas, Rami Malek, and Lashana Lynch. This will be the final performance for Daniel Craig as James Bond. Craig is considered to be one of the better Bonds behind the legendary Sean Connery. The film was delayed multiple times due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. I am excited to finally see this movie and I hope it lives up to the hype. The film will be released on October 8, 2021 only in theaters.

2. Last Night in Soho

Last Night in Soho is the latest film directed by Edgar Wright. The film stars: Anya Taylor-Joy, Thomasin McKenzie, and Matt Smith. The film's synopsis reads: An aspiring fashion designer is mysteriously able to enter the 1960s where she encounters a dazzling wannabe singer. But the glamour is not all it appears to be and the dreams of the past start to crack and splinter into something darker. The teaser trailer for this movie was so insane, it instantly intrigued me. It made me feel like I have to watch this movie to see what happens. I am excited to see Edgar Wright directing this movie. He's an amazing director and having his creativity for this movie will make this movie great. The film will be released on October 29, 2021.

  1. Spider-Man: No Way Home

Spider-Man: No Way Home is my number one anticipated film for the rest of 2021. Do I have to give a reason my why this is my number 1? If I do, I will say seeing Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield on screen together is going to make my brain go in happiness overload. I will be screaming like a little kid when I see them together. I can't wait to be in the theater and see everyone around me go crazy just like me. This movie is going to be awesome. The film will be released on December 17, 2021 only in theaters.
