Oppenheimer is the best film of 2023.

Review done.

No but seriously, Oppenheimer is a cinematic achievement done by Christopher Nolan. Everything about this film is amazing. The tension Nolan builds throughout the whole film is incredible. The scenes will leave you on the edge of your seat. The imagery Nolan shows throughout the film is jaw dropping. There are scenes that will make you feel all sorts of emotions. By the end, you feel drained because of the ride it takes you on.

Oppenheimer is directed by Christopher Nolan and stars Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon, Florence Pugh, and a plethora of other amazing actors. The story focuses on J. Robert Oppenheimer (Cillian Murphy) and his involvement in the Manhattan Project and the effects the project had on him. Murphy absolutely knocks it out of the park as Oppenheimer. His performance will earn him a Best Actor nomination at the Oscars. He is Oppenheimer in this film. The way he talks, moves, and looks is Oppenheimer. It's not just his words that make him great, it's his facial expressions, especially his eyes. The weight of the film is put on Murphy's shoulders but he carries it like Superman would carry a car.

The supporting cast around Oppenheimer is amazing as well. Robert Downey Jr. will be nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Oscars. Downey plays Lewis Strauss, a complicated man who is an adversary to Oppenheimer. His performance is so good you forget it's Robert Downey Jr. You just see the character. Emily Blunt as Kitty Oppenheimer is great as well. There's one scene in particular that proves how much of a force she is. Matt Damon as General Leslie Groves brings a light-heartedness to the film that's needed. His banter with Oppenheimer is great as well. Florence Pugh is only in the film for a short time but is great as well. Her relationship with Oppenheimer is complicated and proves to be a critical part of her life. Another standout is Alden Ehrenreich. His performance should help him land more prominent roles.

The music of Oppenheimer is absolutely incredible. Oppenheimer composer Ludwig Göransson deserves Best Score at the Oscars. The music adds so much to the film and tells you how Oppenheimer is feeling in that moment. The production side of Oppenheimer is incredible. The sound design, the cinematography, the set design, etc. are all masterfully done by Nolan and his team. The editorial department did an amazing job as well. The film switches back and forth but it's easy to understand with how well edited the film is.

The story of Oppenheimer is more complicated than one would think. It's not just about the Manhattan Project. It's about the man himself. It shows Oppenheimer's humble beginnings as a physicist and how he became the leader of the Manhattan Project. It also shows the effect the Manhattan Project had on him and his career. There's a lot of politics in the film and it's a crucial point of the Oppenheimer story. The political scenes were some of the most riveting in the film.

Oppenheimer is a film everyone should see. It tells the story of arguably the most important person to ever exist in the modern world. Oppenheimer changed the world forever. What's scary is that what happened during the Manhattan Project is still a concern today. The fear of nuclear warfare is greater than ever. What Oppenheimer said was true. "Now I am become death, the destroyer of worlds." It seems like everyone has a nuclear bomb and all it takes is for one idiot to set the world on fire.
