Sinners is the latest film to come out from acclaimed director Ryan Coogler. The film stars Michael B. Jordan, Hailee Steinfeld, Miles Carton, Delroy Lindo, and a slew of fantastic actors. The film follows a set of twins Smoke and Stack played by Jordan who buy a juke joint and are looking to leave the sins of their old life as they return home. The film takes place in a small town in Mississippi in 1932. Sinners is one of the most anticipated films of 2025 but does it live up to the hype?

Sinners is a true cinematic experience. This means that the film must be viewed in the theater to get the full experience of it. It's not groundbreaking in terms of cinematography, action, or grand scope, but Sinners does an incredible job of making this film a must watch in theaters. There are some scenes in the film that leave you entranced. One particular beautiful scene involving the different eras of music leaves you speechless.

One big talking point of Sinners is the double role of Michael B. Jordan and if he can pull it off. Not only does Michael B. Jordan pull it off, he hits it out of the park. Jordan creates the roles of Smoke and Stack and makes them their own individual person. This makes it easy for the viewer to follow which one is which. The acting as a whole in this film is great. Newcomer Miles Caton steals the show in this film. His voice is so unique and powerful that it mesmerizes you in a way. Look out for Caton because he is a rising star. Delory Lindo provides the laughs in this film and those moments provide a breather for audiences in this tense horror film.

A big part of Sinners is music. In fact, it's the thing that makes this movie go. The whole story is based on music and how the music creates an ability for the supernatural world to come to us. The scene I talked about earlier with Miles Caton singing his song in the juke joint is absolutely entrancing. It makes you don't believe what you are watching on screen. Ryan Coogler did an excellent job of creating that scene and mixing all of the genres of music without making it seem corny and out of place. There's also great music with the vampires that it makes you forget you're watching a horror movie. Seeing vampires sing with voices of angels was truly a mind blowing moment.

The supernatural element of Sinners is hopefully the part of the film that attracts viewers to the theaters. Seeing Michael B. Jordan in a vampire film is sure to raise ticket sales at local theaters. But, it's not just any ordinary vampire film. It's so much more than that. With themes of oppression, racism, temptation, and more Sinners changes the horror genre as a whole and Ryan Coogler blends genres together to create the best movie of 2025 so far.

Sinners is what movie audiences have been craving for. It's an original film with an original concept. Audiences have been craving a high profile movie like this to hit theaters for a long time. Sinners delivers for audiences that want to see an original movie. Its blend of genres, combined with an original story and great acting makes this film a must watch in theaters and the best movie of 2025.
