The Matrix Resurrections Trailer is Here and I'm Excited

The Matrix Resurrections trailer is finally here. The anticipated trailer was released today at 8:58 EST on the Warner Brothers YouTube channel. The trailer starts with Thomas aka Neo sitting in a psychologist's office. You can see he is clearly shaken and anxious. He describes of dreams he is seeing. He's describing his dreams as if they are real life. Are they real? That is the real question. Thomas is having some identity issues. He can't seem to remember who he is and what has happened in his life. Thomas suddenly sees Trinity but something strange happens. Trinity does not seem to remember who Thomas is and their memories together in The Matrix. This seems to tell the audience that The Matrix Resurrections is not a sequel, it's a reboot. It is not a reboot of the whole franchise, it's a reboot of the first movie The Matrix.

As the trailer goes on, we see Thomas living his life on the blue pill. Thomas is living an ordinary life doing ordinary things. This changes when he meets Young Morpheus played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. Morpheus gives Thomas the red pill and this leads him back into The Matrix. But why would Thomas go back to The Matrix? What is he looking for in The Matrix? These are questions that need to be answered in the movie. After looking at the trailer, The Matrix Resurrections is sure to deliver on an interesting story and fantastic action just in time for the holiday season.

The Matrix Resurrections stars: Keanu Reeves, Carrie Anne Moss, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Neil Patrick Harris, and Jessica Henwick. The Matrix Resurrections is directed by Lana Wachowski, who directed the previous three films of the franchise. The film will be released on December 22, 2021 in theaters and on HBO Max.
