Fans of The Mummy franchise can rejoice as a fourth Mummy movie starring Brendan Fraser starring as Rick O’Connell was announced on November 4, 2025. Since 1999, Brendan Fraser has starred in three Mummy movies, the last being 2008's The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. Returning with Fraser is Rachel Weisz as Evelyn O’Connell, who appeared as Evelyn in the first two movies before being recast by Maria Bello. It’s unknown if John Hannah, who played Jonathan Carnahan, will return. The Mummy franchise tried rebooting itself in 2017 with Tom Cruise’s The Mummy, but a poor reception from critics and bad box office led to a cancellation. Warner Bros. Discovery does have a Mummy movie called The Mummy coming out from Lee Cronin, but it’s unlikely to tie into this upcoming movie.

Brendan Fraser’s been on a career resurgence that fans have celebrated. He starred in The Whale and won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance. He’s also appeared in Killers of the Flower Moon and has an upcoming movie called Rental Family. Directing this newest installment are directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who recently directed Ready or Not, Scream (2022), Scream VI, and Abigail.

There is no current release date for The Mummy 4 or any additional castings and plot synopsis. Are you excited for a new Mummy adventure with Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz? Let us know in the comments below.
