Severance is the best TV show I have seen in years. It is one of those shows that you can't help but just love. The casting, cinematography, plot, direction, etc. is perfect. The reason why it is so popular is because people have never seen a show like this before. It weaves in story elements seamlessly and makes every scene must watch. It is one of those shows where you have to pay attention to everything or you'll miss something.
Severance does a great job of leaving the viewer on the edge of their seat. It creates tense moments and high stakes for the characters that make sense to the story. If you don't know what it is about, here's a basic summary. Severance is about a group of workers who participated in an experiment to keep their work lives and personal lives separated from each other. This means when these workers are on the severed floor they only have memories from work. They have no idea what is going on in their personal lives. When they are away from the severed floor, their personal lives come back. They have no idea what they do but they know they work for the company Lumon. Their work life is referred to as an innie and their personal life is referred to as an outie. It is a creative concept which creates amazing television.
What I love most about Severance is its ability to make you think. After each episode it makes you think about what happened and create theories in your head about what is actually going on and what everything means. It also has one of the best cast of characters I have ever seen. Each character is important and serves a big purpose to the story. The show also creates twists and turns that you never see coming. As a viewer of the show, I love that there are some things that I can't figure out. It creates that feeling that I must watch the next episode to see what happens next. I can't remember the last show that gave me that feeling.
I was thinking about if I wanted to put spoilers in this article but I decided not to because I want everyone to experience Severance and the twists and turns it gives you and the feeling of anxiety and intensity. I want everyone to think "what the fuck is happening" while watching this show. The only show I can compare it to is Lost because that show gave me the same feeling with obsessing over theories. Severance will make you obsessed with looking up theories on Youtube or Reddit and if a show or movie can make me do that, it means it's a fantastic piece of art that will leave you excited to see what is next.
The show stars Adam Scott, Britt Lower, John Turturro, Zach Cherry, Tramell Tillman, and Patricia Arquette. The show streams Apple TV and season has already premiered with new episodes coming out every Friday.

Every character is a culmination of someone I’ve worked for or with throughout my military career, aerospace, avionics, IT Management & Security Contractor. More Dylans than I’d like since I was expected to train them. The faux cheerfulness of Seth reminds me of many HR Managers that clearly live on another planet. Mark is the coworker who is good at his job, team player trying to take care of his team. Best TV series I’ve been addicted to in a while. I’ve binged The Walking Dead (and visited the town it was produced in (Senoia, Georgia; Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul and cannot wait for Poker Face to come back. Silo has a light grasp on me but my husband…
Best show since Mr. Robot!
