The second chapter of The Book of Boba Fett was released on Disney+ on Wednesday. This episode explored more of his time with the Tuskens. In the present day, we finally find out who the mayor is and other foe to Boba is revealed. Let's break it all down in this week's review.
The episode starts with Boba figuring out who the person is who attacked him. The people who attacked Boba and his team was revealed to be hired by the mayor and they are the Order of the Night Wind, an assassin group that is used for hire. Boba decides to confront the mayor and see why he tried to kill him. The mayor states that he didn't hire this group to kill him and actually rewards him for bringing this man in. There is still some tension between Boba and the mayor and I believe we will see them become enemies soon.
After seeing the mayor, Boba is greeted by the cousins of Jabba the Hutt. They claim that Boba should not be on the throne and that they should be on the throne. The Hutts even have a bodyguard that can be described as an evil wookie. Boba, Fennec, and the others stand their ground. The Hutts tell Boba they will discuss this later with him.
Boba goes back into the healing water and he dreams about his time with the Tuskens again. Most of this chapter was focused on his time with the Tuskens. Boba helps train the Tuskens to fight a group of aliens on a train. Whenever this train passes the Tuskens village, the group starts attacking them from the train. Boba sees this and steals a bunch of speed racers from a biker gang and kick some major ass in the process. After stealing the speed racers, we get a badass montage scene of Boba training the Tuskens. The scene reminded me of an 80's montage and it totally works.
Boba and the Tuskens see the train and launch an attack. This sequence was some of the best action I have seen in a Star Wars show or movie. It reminded me of Mad Max in the way it was shot and how realistic it looked. Boba and the Tuskens eventually defeat the group and tell them to no longer attack the Tuskens or there will be consequences.
Boba participates in a ritual with the Tuskens and becomes reborn again. He is given a badass outfit that looks like some Palpatine would wear. That is the end of the episode. The one problem I have with this show is its lack of balance. Throughout these two episodes we have spent way more time in the past than the present day. Sure that part is interesting but I want to see more of the present day with Boba and Fennec. I particularly want to see Fennec more because she is a badass character. Hopefully we get more present day screen time in future episodes.
